INGALLSBEE, SILAS.-Age, 38 years. Enlisted, November 6, 1861, at Cooperstown, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. K, January 6, 1862; deserted, January 17, 1862, at Albany, N. Y.

INGERSOLL, DAVID.-Age, 18 years. Enlisted at Cortland, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. B, October 14, 1861; deserted, October 18, 1861, at Cortland, N. Y.

IRVING, JOSEPH.-Age, 23 years. Enlisted at Buffalo, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. A, August 10, 1863; killed in action, May 5, 1864, at the Wilderness, Va.

ISAACS, JOHN J.-Age, 19 years. Enlisted, September 14, 1861, at Freetown, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. D, October 4, 1861; discharged for disability, February 11, 1863, at Convalescent Camp, Va.

IVES, HIRAM R.-Age, 30 years. Enlisted, November 24, 1861, at Summit, to serve three years; mustered in as sergeant, Co. K, December 4, 1861; returned to ranks, April 10, 1863; transferred to Co. G, July 1, 1864; to Co. D, October 20, 1864; discharged, December 3, 1864, in the field, Virginia.

IVES, SAMUEL H.-Private, Co. E, Ninety-third Infantry; transferred to Co. E, this regiment, January, 1862; discharged, October 8, 1862, at Cortland, N. Y.


JACKSON, ANDREW.-Age, 22 years. Enlisted at Norwich, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. G, September 1, 1863; transferred to Co. D, October 20, 1864; to Co. G, One Hundred and Forty-seventh Infantry, January 28, 1865.

JACKSON, HENRY.-Age, 29 years. Enlisted at Dunkirk, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. G, August 17, 1863; deserted, October 10, 1863, at Rapidan River, Va.

D, October 4, 1861; captured in action, August 29, 1862, at Bull Run, Va.; paroled, no date; reenlisted as a veteran, January 2, 1864; killed in action, May 5, 1864, at the Wilderness, Va. (brother of John Luther James)

JAMES, JOHN LUTHER.-Age, 18 years. Enlisted, September 14, 1861, at Freetown, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. D, October 4, 1.961; discharged, October 24, 1864, near Petersburg, Va. (brother of Edward James)

JAMIESON, JAMES.-Age, 42 years. Enlisted at Utica, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. D, September 15, 1863; wounded in action, May 6, 1864, at the Wilderness, Va.; transferred to Co. G, One Hundred and Forty-seventh Infantry, January 28, 1865.

JANER, ELIHU O.-Age, 18 years. Enlisted, November 6, 1861, at Cooperstown, to serve three years.; mustered in as private, Co. K, November 7, 1861; deserted, January 8, 1862, at Cherry Valley, N. Y.

JARVIS, ALBERT J.-Age, 20 years. Enrolled, October 5, 1861, at Cortland, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. A, November 19, 1861; promoted quartermaster sergeant, to date November 19, 1861; reenlisted, as a veteran, January 26, 1864; mustered in as captain, Co. C, January 2, 1865; discharged, January 28, 1865.
Commissioned, not mustered, second lieutenant, October 31, 1864, with rank from August 10, 1864, vice J. W. Coons discharged; captain, November 30, 1864, with rank from November 12,1864, vice C. A. Watkins discharged.

JEFFERS, CHARLES W.-Age, 23 years. Enlisted at Truxton, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. G, December 2, 1861; deserted, June 23, 1862, at Fredericksburg, Va.

JEFFREY, CHARLES J.-Age, 18 years. Enlisted, September 20, 1861, at Cortland, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. G, October 5, 1861; discharged for disability, May 21, 1862, at Washington, D. C.; subsequent service in Co. E, One Hundred and Forty-ninth Infantry.

JENKS, EZRA G.-Age, 22 years. Enlisted, November 1, 1861, at Oneonta, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. K, November 30, 1861; promoted corporal, June 1, 1863; returned to ranks, no date; captured in action, May 5, 1864, at the Wilderness, Va.; paroled, no date; transferred to Co. K, One Hundred and Forty-seventh Infantry, January 31, 1865.

JOHNSON, ANSON M. M.-Age, 20 years. Enlisted, September 20, 1861, at Pitcher, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. B, October 4, 1861; killed in action, July 1, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pa. Regimental History says, "was a waiter, but took a gun and went into the fight, and was killed at Gettysburg July 1st, 1863."

JOHNSON, EUGENE E.-Age, 18 years. Enlisted, October 8, 1861, at Cortland, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. A, November 8, 1861; wounded in action, July 1, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pa.; discharged, October 13, 1864, at Elmira, N. Y.
Additional information from historian Ed Raus: Eugene Edward Johnson. B. April 3, 1843. His parents were William and Ester. He was a mason living in Otselic, Chenango County before enlistment. He married Frances Bennett. He died in Syracuse, Sept. 8, 1911. He is buried in Morrisville, New York.

JOHNSON, JAMES.-Age, 18 years. Enlisted, November 15, 1861, at Candor, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. F, November 16, 1861; captured in action, May 5, 1864, at the Wilderness, Va.; paroled, December 13, 1864; discharged, August 21, 1865, at Elmira., N. Y.

JOHNSON, RICHARD M.-Age, 21 years. Enlisted at Union, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. D, July 17, 1863; discharged for disability, November 18, 1863, at Convalescent Camp, Va..

JOHNSON, WILLIAM IV.-Age, 22 years. Enlisted, September 22, 1861, at Richford, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. E, October 4, 1861; discharged for disability, February 6, 1863, at Convalescent Camp, Va.

JOHNSON, WILLIAM.-Age, 30 years. Enlisted at Buffalo, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. A, August 7, 1863; transferred to Co. E, October 11, 1864; to Go. A, no date; to Co. A, One Hundred and Forty-seventh Infantry, January 28, 1865.

JOHNSON, WILLIAM.-Enlisted at Elmira, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. B, August 14, 1863; discharged for disability, February 11, 1864, at Camp Distribution, Va.

JOICE, JOHN.-Age, 44 years. Enlisted at Niagara, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. B, July 28, 1863; captured in action, May 5, 1864, at the Wilderness, Va.; paroled, no date; transferred to Co. F, One Hundred and Forty-seventh Infantry, January 28, 1865.

JOICE, PATRICK.-Age, 23 years. Enlisted at Corning, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. C, July 16, 1863; wounded in action, July 2 or 3, 1863, at Gettysburg, Pa,; transferred to Co. A, November 8, 1864; deserted, September 22,1864, at Grant Hospital, Willets Point, New York Harbor, as of Co. C.

JONES, EDGAR W.-Age, 18 years. Enlisted, November 8, 1861, at Greene, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. B, November 9,1861; died of disease, September 12, 1862, at Washington, D. C. Regimental History says "died of disease after battle of Bull Run."

JONES, JOHN.-Age, 23 years. Enlisted at Southport, to serve three years, and mustered in as private, Co. K, July 20, 1863; captured in action, May 5, 1864, at the Wilderness, Va.; died of disease, August 14, 1864, at Andersonville, Ga., a prisoner of war.

JONES, LEANDER T.-Age, 18 years. Enlisted, September 24, 1861, at Harford, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. F, October 4, 1861; last reported in October, 1862, as absent; supposed to be dead; no further record.
Admitted to Blackwell Island Hospital, NY September 1, 1862 suffering from Typhoid Fever and died there October 2, 1862. Information on his death from an 1863 deposition from Lt. Elias Mead, Co. F, 76th NY Volunteer Infantry.

JUDSON, LESTER.-Age, 21 years. Enlisted, October 20, 1861, at New Woodstock, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. F, October 26, 1861; wounded in action, August 28, 1862, at Gainesville, Va.; discharged for disability caused by wound, January 18,1863, at Point Lookout, Md.

JUSTICE, HENRY.-Age, 18 years. Enlisted, October 7,1861, at Pitcher, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. B, October 31, 1861; transferred to Co. C, July 1, 1864; mustered out with company, November 8, 1864.
Pitcher town records give his occupation as "farmer" and note that he was "wounded".
